The following methods can be used to solve the problem of ineffective hand brake of the forklift:
1. Stop the forklift on a flat road, tighten the forklift parking brake handle, and start the forklift engine accessories. If the forklift can start (i.e. the forklift engine does not stop), the forklift can move forward or backward, indicating that the parking brake effect is poor and needs to be disassembled, inspected and adjusted.
2. For disc brake, after tightening the joystick, if the friction plate is not close to the brake disc, adjust the adjusting nut on the linkage arm pulls rod first: screw the nut to reduce the clearance; On the contrary, the gap becomes larger. If it works, the linkage arm is improperly adjusted. Otherwise, screw the two adjusting screws at the upper end of the brake support to change so that the two shoe pads parallel the brake disc. If it is tight and the braking effect is poor, check whether the friction plate is greasy, whether the matte nail is exposed, whether the friction plate is ablated or broken, etc. Take corresponding measures as appropriate: such as cleaning, replacement, adjustment, etc.
3. If the problem is still not solved after the above inspection or adjustment, the working surface of the brake disc should be checked. If the groove is worn, it should be polished. If it is severe, it should be replaced.
4. For drum brake, when the operating handle is tightened, the brake shoe is not close to the brake drum, which may be due to too long cable or loose linkage mechanism. It shall be adjusted to make the handle stroke meet the requirements. As for the brake clearance or the working condition of the brake friction plate, since the parking brake is shared with the service brake when the service brake effect is good, there is no need to consider the brake problem.
