1、 Preventive maintenance system refers to the basis for the effective use of forklifts.

This maintenance system is composed of some interrelated articles of association and specifications. The maintenance and repair specified by it are carried out planned. It is the maintenance work when the forklift can prevent accidental faults. Suppose the forklift fails or the performance drops below the qualified level. In that case, the unplanned maintenance (called post maintenance or fault maintenance) may often have frequent accidental faults due to technical reasons, which will lead to a long-term shutdown, cause significant losses to production, and add additional difficulties and costs to the maintenance work. Therefore, the method of post-repair and post-maintenance is not used now. The daily maintenance of each shift shall be carried out by the operation of the shift before the shift. Its essential task is to conduct an external inspection of the whole machine or each forklift accessories to ensure that there is no failure during the shift’s work.

Preventive care also stipulates two kinds of regular maintenance according to the operation volume and application time: primary maintenance and secondary maintenance. Item repair is targeted maintenance to ensure the working capacity according to the actual technical state of the forklift. Individual parts shall be replaced, restored, and adjusted during item repair. An overhaul is to repair the damaged parts and restore their rated working capacity. During the overhaul, replace or repair any accessories, including central parts, and adjust them to repair the damage of parts and restore their service life.

Determine the amount according to the continuous working time between forklift maintenance and repair, and timely implement all preventive measures of the preventive maintenance system, namely daily maintenance, primary maintenance, secondary maintenance, item repair, and overhaul. The forklift can only be reused after the specified maintenance and repair. When formulating a preventive maintenance quota, attention must be paid to the frequency of forklift use. Due to the different operation volumes of forklift, the loss varies in severity, and the repair of failure is related to different prevention workloads. Therefore, the maintenance and repair interval should ensure that the forklift is in the rated working capacity, especially for forklifts with large annual operation volumes. The characteristics of the working duration (maintenance period) between maintenance of the forklift have nothing to do with the operation intensity. The forklift shall be subject to item repair and overhaul after a certain amount of work (KT) is completed or a specific operation time (year or month).

3、Preparation of forklift maintenance plan
The forklift maintenance plan is vital for enterprise production, technology, and financial planning. After the forklift has been used for a specific time or completed a certain amount of work, a targeted and preventive maintenance plan shall be made according to the actual technical conditions of the forklift. Specify which forklifts need to be maintained and repaired during the planning period and the maintenance category, content, time, required person-hours, materials, spare parts, expenses, etc., to bring the maintenance work into the planning track. The planned maintenance plan can uniformly arrange human and material resources, timely make preparations before maintenance, shorten downtime and reduce maintenance costs to achieve the purpose of timely maintenance and regular production.
