Forklift maintenance and forklift repair are closely related. There is repair during care and maintenance during the repair. During the forklift maintenance, it may be found that a specific part or part is about to fail or be damaged. Therefore, the maintenance opportunity can repair or replace it with new parts. In the repair process, some undamaged forklift parts should also be maintained. Thus, the relationship between forklift maintenance and forklift repair is proportional. When the forklift is in everyday use, it is necessary to handle the relationship between the two, adhere to the focus on maintenance, and overcome the negative tendency of “repairing but not protecting” and “repairing for security”. In the current situation in the forklift maintenance industry, the forklift maintenance system is scientifically divided into six major parts, and the following six major systems can be classified and specially maintained.
1. Deepening maintenance of lubrication system
(1) The primary function of the forklift’s lubrication system is to effectively lubricate the internal parts of the forklift engine to prevent excessive wear. Usually, the forklift needs to be cleaned and maintained once used for 300, 600 or 900 hours (within 1 month to 3 months). If the engine noise is too large, the acceleration is weak, and the water temperature is too high, it needs to be cleaned and maintained. Clean, maintain and overhaul once. Clean the sludge and other deposits inside the engine, avoid the oxidation and thickening of the oil at high temperatures, reduce the wear of engine parts, extend the engine’s life, and improve the power of the engine.
(2) The maintenance of the forklift hydraulic system is mainly to clean the hydraulic oil tank, replace the new hydraulic oil and hydraulic filter element, and check the hydraulic pump, multi-way valve, steering gear and hydraulic cylinder of the hydraulic system, if oil leakage or wear is found, timely repair and reduce losses.
2. Cleaning and maintenance of fuel oil and gas system
Under normal circumstances, the fuel filter or gas filter should be replaced in each maintenance of the forklift, or when you find that the engine is trembling, lagging, poorly accelerating, emitting black smoke, being weak, and using fuel, cleaning and maintenance are required to remove impurities inside the system. With carbon deposits, clean or replace carburettor, spark plug, high-pressure diesel pump, fuel injector, gas converter, etc., to prevent harmful corrosion from occurring and avoid affecting the regular operation of the engine.
Third, the cleaning and maintenance of the cooling system.
Under normal circumstances, the forklift should be cleaned and maintained once in winter and summer. It should be cleaned and maintained once every 6 to 8 months during everyday driving. The radiator and pipes of the forklift can be deeply cleaned and maintained once the water temperature is too high, water leaks or boiling. Remove the traces and scale that cause the engine to overheat, prevent harmful corrosion, avoid and stop the leakage of seals and water tanks, and completely replace the old coolant.
4. Cleaning and maintenance of gearbox (automatic transmission gearbox)
Under normal circumstances, the forklift should be cleaned and maintained every 1-3 years, or when the gearbox is slipping, weak, slow shifting, or system leakage. Remove harmful sludge and paint film deposits, restore the elasticity of gaskets and O-rings, make the gearbox shift smoothly, improve power output, and completely replace the old automatic transmission oil and gearbox filter element. Such as the regular gear oil change of the mechanical gearbox.
5. Maintenance of power steering system
When the forklift truck needs to grease the rear-axle steering system and the whole truck every half month to about a month, or the steering system leaks when the steering is complex, the steering gear accessories or steering gear assembly must be cleaned and maintained once. Remove harmful sludge and paint film in the steering system, remove steering difficulties at low temperatures, prevent the leakage of hydraulic system steering fluid, remove steering noise, and so on.
6. Cleaning and maintenance of the brake system
When the forklift is driven every six months, it needs to be cleaned and maintained. The brake hub needs to be disassembled for maintenance, repair and adjustment, and check the brake pads, brake cylinders, master cylinders and hand brakes. Prevent the one-way card issue of the master cylinder or the wheel cylinder. Remove the harmful sludge paint film in the brake fluid system, remove the danger of work failure at ultra-high temperature or ultra-low temperature, effectively prevent the deterioration of the brake fluid from expired, and completely replace the old brake fluid.
